WELCOME BACK STUDENTS AND PARENTS      posted 01-22-2008

I hope that everyone has had a restful break. This school year will be exciting and packed full of learning. As 7th graders, not only do we have to prepare for the E.O.G.'s, but also, we must prepare for the monster, the N.C. Writing Test. We have alot to do, but we will get through it just fine.
Classbuilder is a way to keep you informed about what is going on in 7th grade Language Arts primarily. At times, I will include things about other classes. It is the best way to communicate with me as I check it more than 3 times per day. Also, if you want to know the progress of your child at anytime during the school year, you can check his/her grades with your email address and password. This capability will not be available until after the first week of school.
P.A.L, our parent teacher organization needs volunteers. Please send in $15 during the first week of school. P.A.L fully supports the teachers throughout the school year and most of the money collected as registration fees are then distributed to the classroom teachers for start-up supplies.
Please remember your volunteer hours to the school. Those of you who can't make it during school hours could send monetary donations. Also, the donation of used, age-appropriate novels would be great.
Also, Remember that it is important for your child to read something everyday. It is a great idea for your child to see you reading, so why not take a trip to your local library.
I look forward to working with you this school year.

Have a great week,
L. Walton
